Former MTV visionary focuses on fighting worldwide epidemics (Miami Herald)

“Bill Roedy led MTV’s international invasion, spreading the music channel across the Atlantic, past the Iron Curtain, into Africa and Asia, and throughout the Arab world. Now Roedy, 62, wants to make the developing world’s problems more of a sensation in the West.

The North Miami High graduate rose to global prominence as both MTV’s top international executive and a leader in efforts against HIV and AIDS. “He’s truly a citizen of the world,” said Judy McGrath, Roedy’s former boss as chairman and CEO of MTV Networks.”
