10 a.m. — The Churchill-Truman Legacy
The ceremonies begin with a live discussion between two grandchildren of Churchill and Truman, artist Edwina Sandys and author and actor Clifton Truman Daniel. Their discussion will be moderated by museum director Timothy Riley and Kurt Graham, director of the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library.
11 a.m. — Churchill Leadership Meda Award to Dr. Monroe E. Trout
Churchill Fellow Dr. Monroe E. Trout, of Appleton, WI, a longtime supporter of the Museum and its educational mission, will be awarded the Winston Churchill Medal for Leadership, the highest honor awarded by America’s National Churchill Museum.
12 p.m. — 34th Enid and R. Crosby Kemper Lecture — “Churchillian Realism”
The author of 13 books and a contributor to MSNBC, George F. Will will deliver the prestigious Enid and R. Crosby Kemper Lecture.
1 p.m. — Reflections on "Sinews of Peace"
A range of informative videos and commentary featuring guests such as Her Majesty’s British Ambassador to the United States Dame Karen Pierce, the U.S. State Department, Gen. (Ret.) David Petraeus, William Roedy, Randolph Churchill, Edwina Sandys, Allen Packwood, Catherine Katz, Justin Reash, Lee Pollock, David Freeman, Katherine Carter, Craig Horn, Dr. Tobias Gibson, Philip Boeckman, Richard Mahoney, Baxter Watson, Earl Harbison, Jr., Mark Sutherland, Bob Geldof, and others.
2 p.m. — Conversations with Crosby: Churchill Today
A panel discussion about the legacy of the "Sinews of Peace," Churchill’s legacy and the role of the Museum in today's world with historian Andrew Roberts, ANCM's Sandra L. and Monroe E. Trout Director and Chief Curator Timothy Riley, and R. Crosby Kemper III, Director of IMLS. Hosted by the Institute for Museums and Library Services (IMLS), a federal agency.
3 p.m. — Franta & Winston
World premiere of a new documentary by Steve Stinson on Czech-British sculptor Franta Belsky and his creation of the iconic Winston Churchill statue commissioned by the Museum and unveiled in 1971 for the 25th Anniversary of the "Sinews of Peace."
3:45 p.m. — Sinews of Peace: The Power of Prose
A virtual exhibition examining major themes of the "Iron Curtain" speech and highlighting a draft in the museum’s collection with Churchill’s edits and last-minute additions. The exhibit was created by America’s National Churchill Museum and students at Westminster College.
Saturday, March 6
8 a.m. — C-SPAN Washington Journal
C-SPAN's Washington Journal will devote live program time to the "Sinews of Peace" speech from America's National Churchill Museum. To watch this program, please tune in on C-SPAN3; it will not be livestreamed by the Museum.
10 a.m. — Churchill Fellows Induction
An initiation of new members to the Association of Churchill Fellows at Westminster College, an honorary society dedicated to the development of the Museum: Colin Brown, Vice Admiral (Ret.) Michael T. Franken, Keith S. Harbison, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Richard C. Harding, Erik Larson, The Hon. Michael Y. Scudder, Cita Stelzer, George F. Will. The Fellows Induction ceremony will also include a special segment, In Memoriam: A Tribute to Churchillians Lost.
